It all started out the week after Christmas 2016. My daughter was overloaded with new toys and clothes and stuff needed to GO! I really didn't want to drive an hour away to take my stuff to the nearest resale store. I asked friends if there were any kids resale stores close by I had missed. Nope. Not a one. So I started doing a bit of market research. What would it take to open up my own store? Where was the best place for it? So many questions and lots of soul searching. It seemed like this was definitley something this community needed. So I made the decision in March to pull the trigger! I found the perfect spot. My husband and I worked for 2 months remodeling the interior of the space. We even made a special room for my daughter with a cot because we were there A LOT! I wanted it to feel like a boutique, not a second hand store. We reached out to get consignors but had hardly any response. I decided it was time to just open the doors and hopefully it would fly. Little Sprouts Growtique opened in April 2017 with four clothing racks filled with mostly my daughter's stuff. I told my husband it was a huge mistake. I thought we would never fill up the space. I shuffled the few racks we had around each night so it looked like we had more than we did inside. Slowly but surely, word started to get out. People started bringing in their children's clothes. We had to buy more racks. People started to shop. Sure enough, by July the store was full and we were continuing to add racks and even remodeled to gain more sales floor. It became evident that our 900 square feet was too small to fill the demand of our customers. We stayed a year and half in our first location. It was definitely time to expand. And boy did we! We moved the entire store in 4 DAYS to the corner unit where we are now. We tripled our sales floor and expanded our selection of new boutique items and toys. The new location opened on November 1, 2018. It has been such a wonderful ride to watch families grow with us. Every person that walks through our doors is a part of the Little Sprouts family.
